OMVIC Presents: Buying a Vehicle in Ontario - Know Your Rights Online Webinar

Join us virtually for a Zoom webinar on Wednesday November 5 at 7:00PM from the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) Know Your Rights: Buying Vehicles in Ontario.

OMVIC is the regulator of motor vehicle sales in Ontario, and administer and enforce consumer protection legislation on behalf of the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery.

This free 60 minute webinar is meant to provide consumers with information about the following topics:

  • Understanding car dealer advertising
  • Negative equity and long-term loans

Indoor Christmas Decor Swap!

Do you have INDOOR Christmas decor you no longer need? 
 

You're in luck!
 

Bring your decor to the library mezzanine room on Saturday November 8 from 10:30 - 2PM to swap (or just to donate!).
 

Please make sure that your swap items are in good condition and organized into bags or containers. 
 

If you wish to swap, you will be issued up 5 tickets for what you bring in, then you can browse and choose your swap items and redeem your tickets.

Planning Ahead: The Real Costs and Choices of Aging Well with Hello Darlene

Join us on Thursday November 13 from 6-7:30PM in the Mezzanine Room for a special information session featuring Darlene Tripp of Hello Darlene and Jim Palangio from RBC to discuss the costs of aging well.

This is a collaborative, educational session that helps older adults and their families understand both the emotional/practical side of transitions and the financial realities behind those choices.

This program is for those aged 18+.

We will go over what email is, how it works, signing up for an email address, sending and receiving emails, and tips on avoiding spam/scam emails. This is a lecture/ Q&A style program, not a workshop.

Mindfulness & Self Compassion Workshop with Jessy Boudreau

Join us on Friday Nov. 21 from 1-3PM in the Mezzanine Room for a gentle and engaging workshop designed to nurture self-kindness, reduce stress, and support healthy aging. 

Jessy Boudreau will help participants explore simple mindfulness practices and learn how to bring kind awareness to thoughts and emotions. Research shows that mindfulness and self-compassion can help improve memory, ease loneliness, lower blood pressure, and increase resilience. No experience needed—just bring an open heart.

Holiday Card Making!

🎄 Holiday Card Making at the Library! ✂️

Get into the festive spirit and make your season a little more special with handmade holiday cards! Whether you’re crafting for family, friends, or just for fun, join us for a cozy evening of creativity in the library auditorium on Wednesday, November 26, from 6:00–7:30 PM.

We’ll provide a variety of supplies; including cardstock, decorative paper, stamps, stickers, markers, and more to help you design unique and heartfelt holiday cards. No experience needed! Just bring your imagination and holiday cheer!

✨ All ages are welcome!
Please note: Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Retro Craft Club: Holiday Ornaments

Retro Craft Club is a once a month crafting club where we try a craft from the past! Each month will feature a different craft from a different decade. The best part? You’ll receive a crafting merit badge just for attending – no need to finish the craft! 

Join us on the last Saturday of the month from 1-3PM in the Mezzanine Room for some retro crafting (and snacks!).
