The Adult Department offers a variety of workshops and author readings.
Creating Community and Connection in an exciting way at the North Bay Public Library!
Begin the New Year, on the right foot with a weekly senior chair yoga class, that will invite more movement, flexibility and freedom into the body. The class will focus on alignment, body/mind awareness, breath work , balance and joint releasing.
Anne Bentley will lead a modified fun gentle yoga class, using the chair to assist you with postures and balance. This class is especially designed for all body types, including mobility people with physical limitations. Be prepared to feel energised and elevated as you leave class.
What you will need: wear comfortable clothes, a water bottle, and an exercise band or yoga strap with you.
Chair yoga will run weekly on Wednesday afternoons, 1-2PM in the library Auditorium until April 1, 2026.

Join your fellow adventurers in a thrilling sequence of Dungeons and Dragons quests! Defy goblins, locate maps, and uncover the secrets of a mine lost to time.
The Lost Mine of Phandelver is the official Starter Kit adventure for D&D 5e. It has a good balance of combat, exploration, and social interaction. It's one of the most played adventures of all time and a common touchstone for many players. Perfect for beginners and experienced players alike, it runs from level 1 to level 5.
A series of pre-generated characters will be provided. All experience levels are welcome!
This program will run biweekly on Thursdays starting on April 9th from 6-8:30pm.

Join us on Saturday April 11th at 1:30PM in the Mezzanine Room for a book reading and signing event with local author John Levesque, winner of the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour.
John Levesque will read from and discuss his latest book of humour, Becoming Montaigne. In the book, John brings all his powers of cheerful doubt to the task of chronicling the 107 steps to patience of Michel de Montaigne, a sixteenth century gentleman philosopher.
John Levesque is the author of three novels, Rosseter’s Memory, Sometime Soon and Geneva Farewell, and two collections of humour, Waiting for Aquarius and Stranded on the Information Highway. Waiting for Aquarius won the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour. Sometime Soon won the Hamilton Arts Council Award for fiction. Geneva Farewell was published in 2020 and acclaimed by Joseph Kertes as “a brilliant, beautiful book.”
