Are you interested in the North Bay Public Library?
Do you want to help decide where and how the library will be housed in the future.
The Board of the North Bay Public Library is looking for up to four volunteers from the general public to sit on the Facility Renewal Subcommittee, an advisory committee to the North Bay Public Library Board.
The subcommittee will assess all possible options. The Facility Renewal Subcommittee will specifically look at whether the library should proceed with a new build or a renovation of the existing structure. The Facility Renewal Subcommittee will engage relevant stakeholders and experts on designs and future requirements. At the end of 2026, the Facility Renewal Subcommittee will report to the North Bay Public Library Board.
The Facility Renewal Subcommittee will consist of up to four members of the general public, up to four North Bay Public Library Boardmembers, one City of North Bay representative and one library staff member.
The term of the Facility Renewal Subcommittee will extend from February 2025 until January 2027.
The Facility Renewal Subcommittee will meet every other month (once every two months). All decisions of the Subcommittee will be by a simple majority. All Subcommittee members will have a vote.
A quorum will consist of six members.
The current building was built in 1964, almost sixty years ago. It is time to decide what to do for the next sixty years.
